Tolls

The Maine Turnpike is operated and maintained with revenue generated primarily from tolls.  A small portion of its revenue comes from the lease payments of Turnpike Service Plaza facilities.  No federal or state tax dollars are used on the Maine Turnpike.

The Maine Turnpike accepts only cash or E-ZPass as methods of payment for tolls.

The Maine Turnpike is not “Pay by Plate”. When using the Maine Turnpike, you are expected to pay with cash or with a valid E-ZPASS at the time of the transaction. All of our toll plazas accept cash. We do not send bills. If you do not pay at the time of the transaction you can go online here to pay the toll so you do not incur any fines. If you do not pay your toll you are considered to be in violation.
