Richard (Rick) Stewart serves as the Director of Human Resources for the Maine Turnpike Authority. Originally from Mexico, Maine, Rick brings decades of leadership and service experience to the organization.
Rick spent 22 years on active duty in the United States Marine Corps, retiring at the rank of Sergeant Major (E-9). Following his military career, he transitioned into Human Resources leadership, holding several senior roles including HR Manager, HR Business Partner, and HR Director.
His civilian career includes extensive HR experience in the manufacturing sector, with organizations such as NewPage paper mill in Rumford, Verso paper mill in Jay, ABB, and MS Ambrogio component manufacturing in Auburn. Rick has also worked with a multi-location bottled water company in New Mexico and served as Director of Human Resources for a language and interpreter services organization supporting U.S. military personnel during combat operations.
