Project Scope: Crews will be making repairs to four bridge underpasses along the Turnpike: Burnt Mill Road (Mile 19.9), Coles Hill Road (Mile 21.7), High Street (Mile 23.6), and Cat Mousam Road (Mile 24.7). At all four locations, the road surface will get a refresh — the worn top layer of pavement will be ground off and replaced with a fresh new layer. At Coles Hill Road, High Street, and Cat Mousam Road, crews will also repair the bridge joints (the gaps that let bridges safely expand and contract) and the parapet joints (where the bridge's side barriers meet). At Burnt Mill Road, damaged concrete near the bridge's support beams will be removed and repaired. The roadway sections leading up to and away from the bridges will be repaved as well, and traffic control measures like lane closures and signage will be in place throughout to keep drivers safe.
