The MTA incorporates stormwater management protections into all three phases of each construction project.
The three phases of construction include:
- Project development
- Active construction
- Post construction (which includes long-term inspections and maintenance)
MTA helps protect healthy and impaired watersheds from construction and development activities by using best management practices and routinely inspecting construction sites during and after construction to ensure all control methods are functioning correctly and effectively.
Storm Water Management Publications
MTA through a Stormwater Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Maine Department of Environmental Protection (MDEP), oversees the implementation of construction and post construction erosion and sedimentation control best management practices on MTA projects. We provide an annual summary progress report to the MDEP.
